Todd Duplanty

Todd Duplanty represents clients in the acquisition, management, commercial leasing, and divestiture of real property.  As part of his real estate practice, Mr. Duplanty represents both property owners and contractors in negotiating and developing construction agreements to meet their goals in the construction of commercial and residential projects.  In addition, Mr. Duplanty assists clients in the operation of their businesses, including entity formation, corporate governance, asset acquisition, and all manner of commercial transactions.

His clients include entrepreneurs, small businesses and publicly traded corporations across a variety of industries, including construction, consulting, finance, emerging technologies, health care, and real estate.  

Mr. Duplanty has extensive experience with commercial and real property litigation, which he brings to bear in his transactional practice.  This experience enables him to help clients foresee (and avoid) many of the pitfalls experienced by businesses.  Mr. Duplanty clerked at the Supreme Court of Hawaii, where he drafted an analysis of imparted value on real estate for a novel issue before the court.

Recent Representations
  • Representation of a nationwide healthcare provider in negotiating and drafting office and retail leases for properties throughout the United States, with focus on properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, Pacific Northwest and the City of New York.​

  • Representation of a global shared office space company in the negotiation of retail leases throughout California.​

  • Representation of a private equity group in the acquisition and management of commercial and industrial real estate holdings.​

  • Representation of a landlord in a dispute with a manufacturing tenant regarding failure to exercise option to extend lease, negotiating the sale of the property to tenant, and resolution of all claims.​

  • Advisor to a landlord in relation to leasing of manufacturing facilities and warehouses in Northern California.​

  • Served as local counsel for a national service company in the leasing of commercial space for Northern California operations.
